Though it remained pretty cold,a swathe of sunshine encouraged some 250 athletes into action at Kingsmeadow for our annual Open Graded Medals caper.The overall performances were as one would expect for the time of year,though the Mens Javelin certainly proved that,if one puts one's mind to it,things can happen anytime.

From the K&P viewpoint,there were plenty of promising performances. Looking particularly likely to have good summers were George Wilkins(U13B),Gordon Lester(U15B),Josh Diffley(17M),Chris Hall(U20M),Claudia Noakes(U13G),Roseanne Mackay(U17W),Prathamesh Kaneri(U17M),Kyle Stevens,Felix Hatton,Chris Dack & Jonathan Middleditch(SM) in the field,whilst,on the track,standouts included Phoebe Haynes(U15G),Soracha Healy(U13G),Mary Iheke(U17W),new M35!! Draco Mkpa,Sarah Harris & Sarah Atkins(U20W) & Michael Huntley,Alex Thomas & Ron Taylor(U20M).

Very good to see some of our Under 20s in reasonable form since bridging that gap between being a good U17 and a useful Senior is so important and so difficult to achieve,given the pressures in the immediate post-school period of their lives.The full results,after some alarums and excursions,are now on this site(click Results).
